A year ago today... Leemore visited her family in Israel and began to feel more deeply grounded than ever before in her complex relationship to her ancestral home.
Mentioned in this episode...
Here's our EPIC list of mentions!
The Hamilton documentary is out now! For a limited time (currently listed as November 18), you can watch Hamilton's America on PBS.
The Hamilton singalong group Sally loves is Hamiltunes LA, and they have groups in other cities too, including NYC, San Francisco, and more. Enjoy the hell out of it!
Impro Theatre is who performed a hilarious and improvised Shakespearean play at the event Sally went to (which, btw, was part of the PBS SoCal Arts Festival).
Tyla's new awarenesses around the black lives matter movement were sparked by the fourth season of Orange Is the New Black.
Tyla also mentions The Signature of All Things by Elizabeth Gilbert again (which she was reading when we recorded episode 25).
Leemore mentioned the play Small Mouth Sounds (sadly, it closed on October 9).
Sally's Ayahuasca experience reminded Leemore of the Amazon series Transparent. (And FYI, the concept Tyla can't remember the name of that also came up in episode 24 is epigenetics.)
And, of course, there's Rent (which reminded Sally of the digital #Ham4Ham of "Out Tonight" cuz why not go full circle here and end with Hamilton).
